Micah’s Busy Day

by micah on January 11, 2007

It was actually quite a simple day…just busy. I got up early so that I could attend the men’s prayer meeting at my church, then I went to work (where I was on the phone most of the day calling everyone in the world :)), then I came home, had dinner, and then talked with a friend of mine for a long while (he’s in China – and was just getting up :)). Then I talked with my Dad for a bit, then worked on my church’s website, talked with my dad some more, and now I’m writing this post.

That was my busy, simple day.

i just realized, that when my friend in China was on the phone with me, he was in TOMORROW while I was still in TODAY – go figure! I spoke to someone in the future (there was a slight delay :))!

You sound very busy indeed!
At about 12:30 AM on New Year’s Day, I emailed one of my friends who lives in Nashville. But he received the email in the year before I wrote the email (due to the time difference). I thought it interesting. It’s fun to think about time like that!

Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’… into the future.

Uncle David, is that a line from a song? Andrea

Yes it is. They are lyrics from from an early 1970’s song by The Steve Miller Band entitled “Fly Like An Eagle”. Many of my connections and memories are wrapped up in songs.

Well, I’ve often said that life is a musical – it’s only natural that your memories should be clothed in song. The importance of music in our culture is quite amazing to me when I consider how HUGE the music industry is. Almost anywhere you go you can hear music, and if you don’t, you can put it there with your iPod1
