“Hey, everbody! Who wants a first edition copy of Lord of the Rings? That will be $52,500… Yes, you heard me: fifty-two thousand, five hundred dollars (not including shipping and handling).” Yes, I was book hunting on AbeBooks today, and I found me a nice little copy of Lord of the Rings…priced at $52,500. Who could afford something that expensive?! Of course, I dreamed about it…but then I realized that I might have to skip college and live in a carboard box for a decade or so, but other than that… Anyway, nothing real important. Just thought it was interesting (and expensive!!!)

It appears that a first edition The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe can be had for $16,302.10…
Any takers?
Living in a cardboard box might not be so bad: low maintenance, easily replaced, portable…or you could buy and then sell it on e-bay for a million; actually, in that case you could just sell some toast on e-bay and you’d be set to get the first edition!
that’s increadible! Maybe our parents have some first editions hidden away somewhere without even knowing it – we could be millionaires! 🙂
hee!hee! thats crazy. i miss hanging out with you guys, you always make me laugh! ~melissa
