Here’s something Linnea found while she and I were exploring our backyard. She found it in the creek back there, and the brought it home and washed it off. I think it’s a mussel:

She was excited about finding it!

It is a big one!

Cool!
Did you mean for these pictures to be small? If not, read in the blog manual how to make them bigger. Also, you might want to look up how the Optional Excerpt can be useful.
Wow! How did such a huge creature get in a creek? I think I have only seen muscles at the ocean. Is that how you spell the name, by the way? I was a little freaked out when I read the excerpt. The first image that came to my mind was that Linnea had found a bodily muscle, and I was trying to figure out why that would be so exciting 🙂
Uncle Gary, no I did not mean for the pictures to be small. (but I think that’s the size I took them with my camera).
I forgot about the excerpt line. I fixed it. 😀 Sorry you thought that, Seth! 😯 😳 And I was really wondering myself whether I was spelling it right. (Mussel?)
Sorry about all the confusion!
Emily 😛
What a cool find! I wonder what else you will turn up.
Neat, I’ll say that must have been exciting!
I was very surprised you found something like that here… I thought they would only be near the ocean! And I do believe that this is spelled “mussel,” not “muscle.”
amazing! What stories, paths, and adventures took place for that mussel to be found by linnea!?
