The Goethe Institute has an optional culture program, and on one of the planned events we walked along a water front called “Alster.” That was last week. Here are a few photos:
One of my prayers has been that the Lord would bless me with friends quickly. I found a church (a denomination recommended to me by a friend), where they have a German service, an English service and a Spanish service! So, naturally, I went to all three last Sunday ๐ It was so refreshing, though somewhat tiring physically. This week I got together with some people from the “young adult” groups, which was fun. They have been so welcoming and some offered to show me a bit of the city! Here are some pictures from yesterday:

This is part of Hafen City, which, as I have been told, is the rich part of town. There are also quite a few older buildings.

Hafen City also has a lot of bridges in cases of floods. They are wide enough for cars so that in cases of flood, automobiles may keep on runnin’

This long stretch of concrete along the Elbe river is famous for its fish market. It is only on Sundays and starts at 5am!
We also sat on a small beach, but unfortunately I did not take pictures ๐ I may go again and then take a snapshot ๐ That’s it for now!
