Introducing…

Hello family,

Kristen and I want to thank the Lord for his mercies to us in granting the safe arrival of our little Eleanor Betiel Miller. She arrived unexpectedly at our home around 5:00 this morning, 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 19.5 inches.

Eleanor, as you may guess, is for Kristen’s grandma Brauer and means “shining light” by which we can remember Jesus, who shines the light of the glory and truth of God into this world.

Betiel, commemorates an answer to prayer of several years which is being answered this month when, Lord willing, the wife of the Eritrean pastor who my father trained for ordination during my parents time there, whose name is Bethel, and her six children will be reunited to him here in the states after he fled Eritrea for his life while the church was being persecuted and scattered. This man has been separated from his family, sometimes without knowing their whereabouts for over two years now. He loves my parents and calls my Dad his father in the faith, so I consider him, Zecharias, to be my brother. I’m sure you all can relate to these familial from spiritual bonds from your own years of service. Betiel is the Eritrean pronunciation of Bethel, which means “house of the Lord”, which is who we are now that Jesus has given his spirit to dwell within us and to shine his knowledge into our hearts!

As to the details of this mornings dramatic events, I will allow Kristen to expound. However, I am overjoyed to be able to say that Mom and baby are doing fantabulously well!

Adam

Zecharias has been in our home on several occasions and has preached at Redeemer Church four or five times. We are looking forward to his family arriving on the 26th in Greenville. Redeemer is collecting money to help them with immediate needs. We think he is great, his joyful attitude in the face of his struggles is evident. Dad & Judy

It is stunning how God works through servants such as us, and we get to celebrate His acts as in family events. I’m sure the story of Eleanor Betiel Miller will be told many times, perhaps over several generations!

That is nice to know, Grandpa. Betiel and his children should be arriving to him in the next couple of days. It’s hard to imagine what that reunion would be like. They will continue to need prayer for the transition afterwards, I am sure.
