I heard back from UGA yesterday, and their answer was “maybe.” My spoken German is not quite at the level they expect, however they were impressed by my language ability (accent, Spanish, music) as well as my recommendations. So, they want me to visit within the next three weeks. When I first read their email I thought to myself “This feels like a fun surprise from the Lord.” I plan on visiting April 23rd, and I will practice a lot of spoken German between now and then! I will meet with a tutor (a former German professor) twice a week, meet with another former German professor next week, read aloud in German, memorize Scripture in German, maybe watch some German films, speak in German at home with Seth and Andrea…whew, it’s gonna be fun and super tiring! But I am thankful and at peace (and also looking forward to what will happen). I’m considering au pairing in Germany for the summer…but that might be a little too ambitious. Thank you all for your prayers!
An interesting twist

Wow, what a twist! I have complete confidence that you’ll impress them come interview time, but also that the Lord’s will will be done either way.
(P.S. Whoa, I guess “will will” is the only other time besides “had had” that you can say the same word twice in a row in the English language… unless there are more I don’t know about yet!)
Yeah, that’s cool! It’s interesting that in the “had had” case they are both verbs, but in the “will will” case one is a noun and the other a verb. Fascinating…
We will pray that your efforts will be sufficient for acceptance. If not you will know that the Lord is not leading in that direction at the present. Grandpa Tom
Will be praying for this! Excited to see what God has planned!
Thanks for the update. I’ll be praying.
I have read “that that” before
I will be praying about this. I’m sure that God will guide you in the way He wants you to go.
Continuing in prayer for the Lord’s leading in this interesting twist.
P.S. May may be a very hot month. 🙂
