Thanksgiving Plans

by janie on November 13, 2013

Hello Family!

This is Melissa again, so excited to hear so many of you will be coming for Thanksgiving! With that in mind I thought I’d throw together a list of things needed for the big meal and everyone can volunteer to bring or make what they want! Let me know if I forgot something or if you want to bring something not on the list, I’m just brainstorming here.

Turkey – Janie

Gravy – Janie

Mashed Potatoes – Janie

Butterhorn Rolls –

Stuffing –

Veg side (green beans, sweet potatoโ€ฆ) –

Veg side –

Cranberry Sauce –

Pumpkin Pie –

Pies-

Desserts – Lissa, pumpkin cheesecake

Butter –

Whipped Cream –

Drinks –

Paper products, plates and cups and silverware –

That’s all I could think of but feel free to add something! I’m doing that one dessert and then I’ll fill in whatever is leftover to do. Audrey, remind me of your dietary needs so I can make things as Audrey friendly as possible!

Also, Mom and I were talking and decided it would be better to have the actual meal at the Waldecker house in Bristol. They have a room that we can all eat together in. As far as the sleeping arrangements go, we’re thinking about having all the girls at my house in Johnson City, and then the boys and Brauers in Bristol. We have more room though if anyone else needs accommodations! Girls if you have any air mattresses to bring that would be helpful, we may or may not need them. Also, let me know when you all plan to get here.

Super excited! Can’t wait to see everybody!

Melissa

Not sure who all will be there, but I’ll sign up for rolls, butter and whipped cream for now. I can sign up for more, depending on who will be coming.

We’ll be arriving Wednesday night. Emily and Linnea will stay with the girls in Johnson City, James with the boys in Bristol, and Janice and I will stay in a nearby hotel.

We’ll be arriving Wednesday: early afternoon or evening. We’ll be leaving Saturday morning. We can bring green beans, sweet potato casserole and a dessert. We’ll make all these things Audrey-safe so that no one has to worry about it. But if you still want to know, the main things I don’t eat are gluten, dairy and sugar.

I have been meaning to leave a comment saying that I am planning on coming with Andrea and Audrey, but I kept forgetting. So, in order to diffuse any doubt, I am coming ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m glad my doubts have been put to rest, Seth, and that you will be coming. Melissa, we are not sure we would be there on time for dinner. So just don’t count on us.

I’ll make something cranberry-ish. We’ll bring air mattresses. Audrey, I’ll bring plain cranberry sauce, no sugar added as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ Or maybe there’s no such thing…but I’ll try. We’ll bring other items to contribute to general food consumption as well.

Oh! Melissa, can you post your address here so we can GPS your house?

FYI – weather forecasters are predicting between 2″-4″ of snow here, starting late tonight through the day on Wednesday. After that – really cold – mid teens Thanksgiving morning. So be prepared and bring along warm clothing!

Alright last minute details! My address is 1818 Old Boones Creek RD, Johnson City, TN 37615. We live in the big brick house with a front porch and gravel driveway.

For all and anyone who will be here, dinner will be at my place on Wednesday night. Stop in as you get here, for most of you Johnson City is on the way to Bristol. Feel free to call/text with dinner or weather status! My number is 407-267-8198. I think we’ll probably eat around 6 or 6:30, but dinner is chicken tortilla soup so it’ll stay hot for whenever people want it!

Aunt Janice I bought stuff to make cranberry sauce too! The more the better though! ๐Ÿ™‚

Girls, bring your pillows too if you don’t mind. And do dress warm!!

Can’t wait to see you all! Call me with any questions or stuff I forgot.
