There is an outbreak of H1N1 in Colombia and Gary is there this week. The wife of one of the Colombian pastors has a confirmed case but Gary has not been with them. The doctors thought one of the missionaries had it about a month ago and now one of the other missionaries is sick but hasn’t been diagnosed. Gary stayed at their house the first night and then moved somewhere else. According to one website most people who get it get a light case but the missionaries who are suspected of having it said they have never been so sick. All this to ask for prayer for Gary and the missionaries and the church.

Wow! Praying.
Praying for health!
I will pray for all of them.
Praying
I will be praying, too!
I remember about 4 years ago Wake Forest had one of the worst H1N1 breakouts in the country. My college roommate that semester had the swine flu for a week, but I miraculously did not catch it. I’ll be praying.
I didn’t realize Wake Forest had one of the worst breakouts. Glad you didn’t get it! Praying for you and everyone else down there Dad!
Thanks for your prayers. The pastor’s wife is still in intensive care but is able to sit up a little now. She will probably be there for another week or so. The one who was sick when I got here is still sick. But the sickness is evolving similarly to the others. One of our two newborns was showing symptoms, and they brought him to be diagnosed since his father had been sick. He had a virus, but not the h1n1. A number of other people in the church and on the team have been sick. A visitor here this week is also sick, but I think it was something she ate–it doesn’t seem like a virus.
Wow! That’s a lot of sickness! I will keep praying for everyone.
