Happy Anniversary! Has it been 40 years?
No, that’s next year.
Oh, ok.
Happy Anniversary!
OK! When did remembering one’s anniversary become the husband’s responsibility? It’s my anniversary too! Yes, today we celebrate 39 years of marriage. In 39 years I forgot Sharon’s birthday once, and today I forgot our anniversary. I have several excuses and they go like this: first, I enjoy reading but really don’t have much time to do it unless I stay up late. Recently, I read through the Hunger Games books, read another novel, started “The Godbearing Life”, and two days ago started “1812 – The Navy’s War” by George Daughan. But the only time I have to read is during lunch break or if I read late at night. So, reason #1 is I’m mostly tired. Second, I worked 11 hours today, and third, I just forgot. I should have picked up on it as soon as I got home. My lovely wife just looked at me when I asked her about supper! After having some left overs we played a game (Ticket to ride) which Sharon won, and then Sharon suggested I check my email. Just then Kristen called to wish us a happy anniversary which by that time I knew what I didn’t know. We laughed about the situation then went out for a Dairy Queen Blizzard with still over two and one-half hours left of our anniversary!
Thanks for all the well wishes.
Woody
