Just thought I would share an update about what is going on with the Churchill clan. So, my job ended in Oklahoma on Wednesday. (I think everyone knows by now that I took a consulting job based in Nashville – mostly travel, but I’ll work out of the Nashville office on Friday’s. I start that job on the 27th). I spent the evening with a cousin of mine in Tulsa Wednesday and then made the rest of the journey back to Middle Tennessee on Thursday. We sold our house in Franklin, and Janice and the girls stayed in a hotel for a week and then with the Gary Waldeckers for for a week. (Thanks so much to the Gary Waldeckers for their hospitality – especially considering we have a 65 lb puppy). On Wednesday, they moved into a two-bedroom apartment in Franklin. so, I had a temporary home to come to on Thursday. We looked at houses yesterday and still haven’t decided what to do yet. Rent in Franklin is more expensive than a mortgage. At this point we are thinking of buying. Janice has decided to teach the 3rd and 4th grade class at Franklin Classical. right now, there is a house on one acre in the country that we like, and one that is 1.5 miles from the school. While the latter is more of a traditional neighborhood (with smaller yards), the close proximity to everything might be a a real convenience for Janice and Linnea. The company in OKC has agreed to ship all of our stuff back to Frankin (it’s still in a warehouse in OKC – thus, we are in a furnished apartment). But we will have to pay for the storage. However, that is more convenient than moving it here now only to have to store it and move it again when we find more permanent (that would be a first) housing.
Because Emily was all geared up to ride horses in college and study equestrian (in OKC), she has decided not to go back to Union in Jackson, TN, but to transfer the Middle Tennessee State and study equine science and hopes to make the Equestrian Team there. She will live at home and commute (about 45 – 50 minutes one way).
I won’t enjoy all the travel and the new job is clearly a step back in my career. But, I feel good (we all do) about the sense of stability (if I might be so bold as to call it that) that the move back here would offer us longer term. We are also taking this opportunity to evaluate whether or not we might want to attend a different church. (Ours is so big that we don’t feel the sense of community that we once felt). We may consider going to Parish Presbyterian.
So, lots going on here. We would appreciate your prayers as we endure (through Christ who strengthens us) these changes and make these decisions. Please also pray for James as he has enjoyed his sense of “community” being back in Franklin, and does not relish the idea of making a new start at UGA in the fall.
OK enough already.

Thanks for the update! It was so fun to have Aunt Janice, Emily, Linnea and Brinkely here! I will continue to pray for you guys with all the transitions.
Thanks for the update! I’m glad you’re moving back to Nashville, too. Praying for you guys!
Thanks for the update. We had fun last week. So glad things are working out. We will keep praying about housing etc.
Its been an adventure. . . a little bit like riding roller coasters. . . and if you’ve ever seen that picture of me on a roller coaster that pops up from time to time in the picture section of this page, you can tell I don’t like them. But God has been good to us and has been with us every step of the way. Thank you all for your continued prayers as we make decisions, as David starts his new job, and as we have a good amount of unpacking in our future, Lord willing.
Glad to hear you are back in Nashville. Praying for stability, housing, hope and renewed hearts.
You awe in our prayers, We are reminded of your situation in light of our week of conference with R.C. Sproul on the Providence of God, In some way He foreordains everything that comes to pass. Believe it and look forward to what His plan is for you all, Dad & Judy
We are some distance from Middle Tennessee, but you are welcome to spend some time with us. We have plenty of room. Dad
