Wow! So much has been going on with us! Things are changing daily and we very often don’t know what’s going on. We feel we have been walking in thick fog and just taking the next step. We’ll see where it leads. Just in this past week it seems we have gained more clarity. Here are some new developments.
1) After weeks of hard work stripping wall paper, painting, moving furniture, packing some of our things, and decorating, we finally put our house on the market. Praise the Lord, we sold the house in less than a week! (Of course its pending on inspection and closing of their house). Our closing is set for May 22.
2) We think we have decided to buy the home of some friends in Edmond. We’ll know more tomorrow or the next day.
3) Emily at first thought she would stay at Union University, but realized she didn’t want to be that far away from us. So, long story short, she has decided to transfer to Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma and will live at home. She and I drove to Oklahoma on Thursday and came back today so she could visit the college.
4) Emily is now an NCAA athlete!!!!!!! 🙂 She has been invited to be on SNU’s equestrian team! She tried out for the team on Saturday. She HAS to practice 2 hours every day. “HAS to”, for Emily should be translated “GETS to”. She also GETS to take equestrian classes.
5) James has been given a full fellowship to study linguistics at The University of GA. Its a 2 year masters program. He has accepted it, but please pray for him as he is not really wanting to leave Franklin and is also looking to see if he could get a job and stay.
6) On another note, Linnea won first place in the science fair at school! She and a friend did an experiment on roses. They determined that the best solution for keeping cut roses is a distilled water and sprite mixture. ( I think it was 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sprite.) The flower not only lived longer, but was much more beautiful. Try it sometime. I bet it works for all cut flowers.
7) Also, a new development is that David was told by a doctor that he has a tumor on the back of his neck. He had an appointment scheduled with a specialist, but it turned out they don’t take his insurance, so he has to find somebody else. Some friends gave us a name, so we’ll see. Please pray that it would be benign.

Wow, indeed! So many exciting developments! Congrats to James on his acceptance into the program, to Emily for getting into the equestrian team and to Linnea for winning the fair! I’ll continue in prayer as you pass through this foggy whirlwind of change, and for Uncle David as he looks for a good doctor. That’s amazing you’ve sold your house!
We will be praying for you all in the midst of all of the change. I hope David can find a good Dr soon. We pray for peace and a sense of God’s presence in all the decisions and happenings.
exciting – and exhausting – we will be praying!
We will certainly be praying for all things to continue to fall into place. Congratulations to all three for their accomplishments. We will pray that all goes well with David. Dad & Judy
Lots of good things happening! Sorry about your tumor, Uncle David. That must be discouraging.
Thanks for your prayers everyone. The latest development is that a consulting company, with whom I have been talking since last fall, is at the point where they want to seriously consider me as a candidate. The job would allow me to live in Nashville but travel is required Mon-Thurs every week. This would at least allow the family to stay in Nashville (even if I’m only there on weekends). But, we no longer have a home there and I am not sure if I want to travel 80% of the time.
I would appreciate your prayers regarding this. Also, the tumor is causing a fair amount of pain and I don’t go to the doctor until May 2.
We will continue to pray!
We will pray. Let us know how things are going in all areas.
We have decided for sure on buying the house of our friends. We plan to close on that house on May 31. Our new address will be 3409 Fox Hill Terrace, Edmond, OK 37034.
Wow! I am so glad you have already found a house. We will keep praying about all the details.
We would like your prayers for wisdom and a solution to this: The inspection on our home showed mold in our crawl space. The buyers want us to have it remediated by a certain kind of mold remediation process. The estimate is very high.
We will pray about this and the other details of your move.
praying!
God will work out the details.
