So today I drove to the nearby mall to have lunch with Drew during his break from work. As I was trying to leave, my car was giving me troubles – it wouldn’t start, then it finally did and i’d drive 5 feet before it would turn off again. It is an old car and has this problem sometimes, so i didn’t worry too much. After the fourth time my car started and then stopped after i was driving I got really worried. Dad was in Liverpool at the time and Drew was working, so I didn’t know what to do! I put my car in neutral, pushed it out of the way and then called to see if Drew could help. He ran out, started it for me, drove it around alright and I jumped in and drove. Fortunately it didn’t die again, although I kept the gas revving even when the break was on to encourage it. Anyways, it was a very scarry experience, I had to stop several times on major roads and I was terrified it would die on me on the motorway!!
So, now I come to my dilema. My fabulous, cute, fun, cheap yet old mini is not very reliable. We have been constantly replacing things in it, driving it to the mechanics sometimes weekly, and i’m wondering if it’s time to say goodbye. I should be able to sell it for a good price cause I just replaced the engine (which i’m still paying for), but I love the car and really don’t want to see it go! Plus car problems have kept me from going to work three times now, and I know my boss is not thrilled about that!
Please pray that I will be able to make a decision! It’s amazing how one can get attached to something so heartless as a car! ~melissa

is there any chane you could sell your current car and get another similar car? – I’ll be praying
Wowwee! That is scarry! There must be a car-sickness influenza type thing going around. I like how you said you “encouraged” your car! 🙂 I too, will pray!

An unreliable car can make you feel crippled. I’ll pray you can find a more reliable one.

Ahh… just toss the old girl… She’s lived a good life, and it’s time for her to go.

I know the dilema you face. I faced it myself with my first car. I will pray that God leads you in the direction you should go.
I’ll be praying, too! I’m glad you’re safe. Andrea
