Perhaps I should not anticipate the week to be busy…it may be a self-fulfilling prophecy if I approach it in such a manner. However, I do believe that this will be a week where my desire for a balanced life will be at odds with reality. Not only it is Holy Week, it is Spring Break for the local school systems, and my friend Andrew will be in town. This means that there will be a lot of things asking for attention — all things that need to be done, but also things that if I am not careful will supplant their rightful place.
Spring break is relevant because the entire department is maxed out in terms of allowable number of people absent — which means that there will be a lot of work to coordinate this week. I am confident in the fact that this will be able to be accomplished, but am concerned that it may take more time than I want to give it and am MORE concerned that I will view things that come up as interruptions instead of an opportunity to care for those around me. I am more prone to be the religious man – not caring for the bloody, broken traveler on the road, though I desire to be the Samaritan. Would you pray with me that God would make me more loving to those that do not fit into my plan?
Other items for prayer: 1) That the fire department would find a way to engage the community is supporting the volunteers and volunteering themselves 2) Time with my friend Andrew – that we would be able to encourage each other. 3) I am taking a girl from church to a concert this Saturday and would like wisdom in the this relationship. 4) That in all of life’s hectic business, I would earnestly seek God, and make knowing Him better a priority. This is something that I really struggle with and I am not even certain I can all what I do now as struggling.
Sorry for the rambling and thank you for your prayers.

Nathan, I will be praying with you. Is this the AKUS concert? If so, I am jealous.
We will pray for all those things. Thanks for sharing. It is helpful.

Uncle David — it is the AKUS concert.
Hi there, brother. We’ll be praying for you!
We are praying for you, for sure! Love you!
I do not know if I mentioned it, but I also applied for a new job at Unum. I found out today that I will have my first interview on Thursday @ 330.
Will be praying for that
Phew! Does sound like a busy week. Praying!
We will pray that you get done just the things God intends for you to do. Grandpa Tom
I’ll be praying.
So how did the interview go?
I believe that my interview went well. I don’t always do the best job of selling myself, but don’t think that I had any major gaffs. I should know more in about two weeks.
Yes, selling oneself is something I don’t feel comfortable doing. I’m sure you did well, because you’re Nathan 😀 Do keep us posted!
