Evaluation of First Semester

by Audrey on December 20, 2011

I’ve officially completed my first semester at my new job––I continue to be amazed at how perfectly the Lord provided just the right job for me at this time in my life.

Highlights:

  • Kids speaking German voluntarily!
  • A Mom told me that her three-year old saw her counting on her fingers and started counting in German
  • Getting to know my co-workers, the kids and their families
  • Whenever the kids say: “Can we do German now?”

Struggles:

  • Building deep relationships: most seem rather shallow
  • Trying to figure out the best way to teach the kids
  • Working through readings and essays for my Diploma: interesting but somewhat tedious and sometimes boring

Wish I had taken some pictures during the semester, but I didn’t. Perhaps next semester. I’ve appreciated all your prayers, encouragements and support!

I’m so glad you love your job so much. I enjoy hearing the stories you bring back of the children.

That is a good evaluation of the positive and what you would like to change or improve. Grandpa Tom

Your enthusiasm is inspiring and I’m sure the children are really attracted to learning German.
