This is the first song I every wrote. I think I was about 10. And as I recall I wrote it while my dad was preaching one Sunday night. 😳

- There once was a silly old cat
- Who ate and ate and got fat
- He tried to reduce
- But he could not produce
- The evidence of all his acts.
- The cat was now in despair 🙁
- So he thought while he ate a pear.
- He ate another
- But not to recover
- From that which he could not repair.
- Now came a knock at the door–
- It was the man from the store.
- He came to collect
- ‘Cause the cat was in debt
- From what he had eaten before. 😯
- Now the point of my story is clear (so clear!)–
- If you have a cat that’s so dear (so dear!)
- You don’t even know
- When he’s biting your toe
- He won’t stop till he gets to your ear 😮

I like that song. I assume it has a tune.

Yes, and I added the tune since you sort of requested it. Also, as I was singing it I remembered it has a fourth verse, which I also added.
