Just wanted to give everyone an update on my situation. My request for a time extension on my dissertation was granted. I asked the execs at Tractor Supply if I could still use them as a research site. They said no. So, not sure what to do since the proposal was context-specific.
I have been applying for jobs mostly here in the area (and a few out of town). Not much happening yet. I did have a recruiter call me about a job here in Nashville, but it looks like the company did not want to interview me. I interviewed for a job in Indianapolis, but didn’t get it. It wasn’t a good fit anyway. The most (and only) promising thing at this point is an opportunity with a consulting company out of Memphis. I made it through the first round of interviews and will be interviewing some more with them on October 6. I think I might like the job, but it’s too early to tell. Maybe I’ll have a clearer picture on 10/6. I do know that the pay is quite a bit less (almost half what I earn at TSC), so we would likely have to move. Also, at least some (if not much) of the pay is “at risk” pay – based on sales and billable hours. But, it might be a good opportunity and it would allow us to at least stay in the area (even if we can’t stay in our house). So, you can pray that the next interview would go well and that I would have a good sense of what is involved. I seem to have exhausted all other possibilities (that I know of) in the area, so if the Consulting company opportunity doesn’t work out, I will likely start a more comprehensive national search.

The extension is good news. How much time did they give you?
They gave him 18 months. Is that right?
Correct
praying every day!
Praying! Any jobs in Chattanooga? 😀
18 months is a hopeful amount of time.
The consulting job sounds interesting. I’m praying!
All the moving that you guys have done in the past several years reminds me of all the moving around our family did as missionaries. I empathize with you all, at least the moving part. Maybe God is preparing you to be traveling missionaries, although I guess you already have been.
We’ll keep praying.
