Mein Lebensweg

by Audrey on July 9, 2011

I’ve been thinking that a lot has been going on in my life, and I haven’t posted in a while, so here’s my update 😀

The main things that have been on my mind lately are listed in the following bullets:

  1. Being in charge of games at Montessori Kinder this month for their 9-day Culture Camp
  2. Preparing to be a German teacher the Montessori way
  3. Becoming the chairman of the Mission Ministry Group at church
  4. Being a good tour guide at Ruby Falls
  5. Cultivating/Harvesting our Garden

Those are the main things on my mind. I’m becoming quite nervous about teaching German––many times I feel that some of the kids know German better than I do 😮 But I’m going to try and really crack down on regaining and refine German fluency. A recent thing that has preoccupied my mind is the fact that I volunteered to lead a line dancing get-together for our church this Autumn. I think that will be fun!

Let’s see, what else is going on…I’m reading the Hobbit, and hope to read through The Lord of the Rings (for the first time with my own eyeballs––I’ve “read” it before when we read it aloud as a family 😀 ). Andrea and I are memorizing Ephesians, which has been very good, and also reading through Numbers. We’re almost to the chapter with the talking donkey! I like that chapter––it humbles me on the one hand, and reminds me that God has a sense of humor on the other 😀 I just finished reading “Spiritual Depression” by Martin Lloyd-Jones, which is an excellent book that reminds me of the truth in poignant and encouraging ways. Now I’ve picked up “A Praying Life” by Paul Miller. I’m not sure, yet, what I think of the book. If I remember, I’ll let you all know my opinions on it when I finish.

I’ve also been thinking about having a family reunion this December, perhaps in a lodge in Virginia somewhere? Any ideas about that (dates, how long, where etc.)?

Well, that’s all I can think of right now, so I’ll sign off, over and out 😉

A lot of new things. You probably understand the grammar better than the kids who speak German. You probably know more words, too. And if anything is lacking, I’m sure you’ll pick it up quickly.

Change is stressful even if it is a good change. I think you are handling it well and will be a great teacher.

I think you are so brave in taking on all of these things! God has opened a lot of cool doors for you.
