Russian Squirrels eat Dog

On the BBC News website I read an article saying that in some Russian town near Mongolia several people saw a dog barking at some black squirrels (hmm…baby gollums?), when all of a sudden a bunch of them came down and attacked it! Apparently they ran away at the approach of humans, but the dog died. Isn’t that strange? The hypothesis for this behavior is that there has been a dearth of food.
