Physics Talk

by sejwa on October 28, 2010

Tomorrow I am giving a progress report for my dissertation committee members, so I would appreciate your prayers regarding my presentation. In particular, pray that I would be able to focus on getting my presentation done this afternoon so that I can have plenty of time to practice my talk. I find that the urge to gather more information is so strong for me that I often am working on the talk up until the last minute, leaving very little time to practice. As a result, my talks tend to not go very smoothly.

After my oral qualifier a couple of years ago, one of my committee members told me that I really need to work on my presentation skills, so I feel that for this progress report I need to not only show what I have accomplished in research so far, but also that I have improved in giving a talk.

Thank you!

I know I myself don’t particularly relish giving speeches, so I’ll definitely be praying.

I’ll pray for you, Seth. Speech presentations make me nervous. I’ll pray that you’ll finish this afternoon and be satisfied with it, and that the flow would be clear to you.

I’ll pray. I was thinking about you today and wished you could be part of our discussion at school on Einstein’s theory of relativity.

Thank you all for praying. My presentation went fairly well. I did stumble some, but not as much as previous times. I was able to practice beforehand more than I usually do.
