Pollution = Racism
by David on October 13, 2010
Congress passed legislation that will use our tax dollars to fund projects for environmental justice. Seems pollution “adversely affects the economically disadvantaged and the racial minorities”. So, pollution=racism!! Are you kidding me? I thought pollution was not being a good steward of God’s creation. Little did I know that when I stuck my chewing gum under my desk in third grade, I was really hating black people

Wow. A perfect example of what I read recently in Orthodoxy by Chesterton: those who rely solely on reason are basically no different than madmen in insane asylums. Also reminds me of Psalm 2:4 – “He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.” I mean, really, what do they think they’re doing? It’s funny and saddening at the same time.
Hey, Uncle David, is there a link to an article you could give us about this issue. I had trouble finding anything about this act on Google, and I am not sure where else to look.
Hey James, I happen to be reading Orthodoxy, too! Also, I read Psalm 2 today. You didn’t happen to have English muffins for breakfast this morning, did you?
Haha, no English muffins–I those are pretty hard to come by in China! But that’s pretty crazy that you’re reading the same material… Is this your first time reading Orthodoxy? Orthodoxy is one of my favorite books of all time, second only to the Lord of the Rings 🙂
That does seem far-fetched!
Seth,
I did not see it in an article but heard it on news talk radio in the car. I will look to see if there might be one.
No, I’m reading Orthodoxy for the first time. Chesterton’s writing style seems to fuse together silliness and seriousness. I love it.
What a strange world we live in.
I started reading Orthodoxy, and I would really like to finish it! Seth, if you own it, could you bring it at Thanksgiving time? I like the silly-serious combo, too!
