I can understand that they wouldn’t get all the names and everything exactly right, but the way they were pronouncing Copiapó sounded quite bad. They were pronouncing it with the accent on the “a.” The wrong accent on a word usually has more of a negative effect than not getting the sounds exactly right. Can you imagine hearing someone pronounce Dallas, Texas, as “d-LASS,” with the accent on the last syllable? It would be barely recognizable.
