This semester I will be traveling abroad. Sometime in April I will be going to Trento, Italy for a physics workshop on “Quantum Many-body Physics.” The trip will last about a week. Then, for the month of May, I will be in Japan working with one of my adviser’s former students, Carlo Barbieri. My adviser suggested that I apply for funding from the university where Carlo works because they have travel grants specifically to promote interaction between U.S. and Japanese physicists. I learned yesterday that my application has been accepted, so I will be going to and staying in Japan with all expenses paid!
I am a bit nervous, because I will have to give a talk in Japan, but presently I feel like I lack confidence about what I know. Having to appear like you know what you are talking about when you are not quite sure that you do know what you are talking about is not a happy feeling.

We are excited for you. God will provide all you need. He has brought you this far and he will not let you fall.
Yea! I’m so glad your application was accepted.
Woopeeeee! That is so very, very exciting! Will you be near where Hiromichi is from? That would be cool, too. I think you are very smart, Seth, and admitting that you don’t know everything is a good thing, because it’s true 😉
I am sure you will do a good job. Sounds very exciting!
I will pray that you will know what to say. This is a very good opportunity. 🙂
We will be praying that you will be given wisdom and say just the right things. I know how you feel. Grandpa Tom & Grandma Judy
¡¡¡WOW!!! What a great opportunity! The Lord will bless you as you prepare for it.
What an exciting opportunity. Ask God for wisdom and he will give it to you.
