Happy Birthday, Dad! I really appreciate your sense of adventure and fun, your ingenuity, and your thoughtfulness of others (among many other things)!!!
Your Son,
Micah
I hope you had a great birthday with your family. I thought of you often through the day. You’ve been a great brother – and friend. Thanks for being “you”.
Alan
Thank you all for your encouraging words. I had a very nice weekend with family. Seth and Andrea had off school on Friday and Monday for Easter. And Audrey had no German classes those days either.
I had always known that I was born on a Saturday, but last week I began wondering whether or not I was born on the Saturday before Easter, and what challenges that might have cause Dad and Mom–since they were always super busy getting ready for Easter. As it turns out, I was indeed born between Good Friday and Easter. Dad didn’t remember when I mentioned it to him, but it must haave made for a busy time.
Caleb was born on Palm Sunday night. We had a “practice” service for our new church plant in Des Moines that morning…and our first service the next Sunday on Easter. Janie, of course, helped sing and lead worship Easter Sunday. And having Janie’s parents in town was good, as we put them to work with Sunday School and other duties.
