Yes, it has been some time since we’ve given a report. Sharon provided some update yesterday on a posting. Gary your instructions were helpful and this is the result. I often don’t sit down to the computer until the day is winding down and sometimes not at all. Wednesday nights is date night at the auction. I found a German post card written in 1915 addressed to a Superindent Brauer! It was with a couple of other items and someone else bought the lot but I went to the winner and asked if I could get the card. He was more interested in the other items so I was able to get it from him (it did cost me a couple of dollars). Anyway it is a military post card (this was during WW1) and I could read some of the script. It will be interesting to get out my dictionary and translate the whole card. As Sharon reported we did start a small business. We’ve been selling the antiques we’ve been collecting for about four weeks now. So far we’re doing ok. We don’t expect to make a lot, but it is very interesting activity. In April the area mechants have what they call a weekend antique extravaganza. This is one of three weekends a year when lots of folks come into the area and look at the various antiques available. We mostly sell continental porcelain/china (about 100 years old) and glass made in the US from the 20’s to 40’s. We have a few other things as well but we know the most about these items (which is very little).
As was also reported I am serving on the session of our PCA church now. It is really different being on a session with a group of men. When I was in Waldorf the most we had on the session was five ruling elders once, but mostly only two. I’ve been impressed by the grace and wisdom God has given many of the men here.
In February I was also elected the president of the park association. While Sharon had some fears about me being over extended (and not without some reason) this is one of the things I prayed about in my coming to Pennsylvania. It is really nice being part of a community where people get together for common good. I am praying we have opportunities to share our faith so we can extend the kingdom.
Katie has been accepted to go with a team from church to New Orleans this summer. She is doing team building events around raising support in preparation for the work they plan to do. Some of the details are a bit sketchy, most likely they will be helping families clean up and rebuild. This Saturday the team is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner. You all are invited!
Well this is the report for now.
God is Good, His faithfulness is for eternity!

Oh, it sounds like you are all doing well! Katie, that sounds exciting! ARe you nervous? I think I would be. I am glad you get to go, I surely am! Maybe you could stop down here on the way!
Wow, a German post card from a brauer! that is really neat! I really enjoy hearing from you! the president job sounds like it is fun! What sort of things do your community do together?
Audrey
Thanks for the report, Woody. Have you found out anything about the Superintendent Brauer? I’m glad to hear you are enjoying being on the session. So what are your responsibilities as park association president? That’s pretty cool. And interesting that they would allow a newcomer to fill that position.
