In honor of the 1000th post to this blog–which we started about 3 years ago–I’m offering a prize to the first person who answers all the following questions correctly. To find the answers you will have to search the blog. All the answers are “according to the blog.” Here are the questions:
- What was the date of Janie’s first post?
- What is the blog page number where the post of Dad’s (Grandpa’s) sermon “But God…” is found?
- What was the date of the first post of this blog?
- How many pages does the blog currently have?
- What book is associated with passing by a dragon?
- What is one of the Churchill’s favorite places to visit that has boxwood bushes?
- Who were the first four people to post to this blog?
- Who posted a picture of a half-made puzzle?
- How many individual people are listed as possible “categories” when writing a post?
- On October 29, 2007, what jersey number was Caleb wearing?
- What is the name of the story that Micah read to us on the blog?
- Who is Cecilia Hinker?
- Answer this riddle: Sometimes tight, sometimes loose, sort of round, different designs.
- How much did Seth estimate it costs Rock City per night to operate their lights during the Christmas season?

Emily and Linnea
Excellent, Emily and Linnea. You get the prize! (Now I have to decide what the prize will be.) Could you explain to people how you did this? I’m surprised other people didn’t jump at this chance to get a prize (Andrea and Audrey helped me put it together, so they were excluded). Maybe people just didn’t know how to find out. Here at home, we all said, “Emily will probably be the one to get this right.”
I was trumped! Dad, maybe for the next competition you should have people e-mail you their answers, and give 3rd, 2nd, and 1st prizes; because now that I have all the answers before me, I have little incentive to search the blog.
How I did it? Well, for some of the questions, I used the categories (e.g. questions 1 and 13, I clicked on Janie, and Riddles at the top). For most of them, I used the search box (e.g. 5 and 6, I typed in “dragon” and “boxwood bushes”). For some, I used the page number chooser at the bottom of the home page. Number 2 was tricky. I searched “But God sermon,” and found the post, but that didn’t tell me the page number. So I looked at the date it was posted, then went to that date on the calendar. For number 9, I just went to the place where you make a post, and I counted the people.
Linnea did number 15!!! 🙂
Very 😎 Emily and Linnea! Thanks for sharing this.
I should add that the page numbering can change depending on how many posts I allow per page. Right now it is set up for 8 posts per page. If 10 years from now someone reads this and the “But God Sermon” post is not on page 20, check and see how many posts there are per page.
I see what you mean, Seth.
Good Work, girls. I was sick, or I would have been looking too.
I have not forgotten the prize. Next time I see you …
