Unexpected

Tuesday was my day off from TGI Fridays, but I got a call saying that they needed to give me my six-month review (I’ve been there eight months) as their office will be audited and will get points taken off if my review isn’t done. I don’t really need to go, but I decide to do it anyway, and I’m glad I did. Besides getting an “exceeds all expectations” on my review and a raise, while I was waiting to get my review, I had an intersting conversation with two coworkers.

One of my coworkers, who grew up as a pastor’s kid in the PCUSA (and later left the church? He has started to go back to church though), was telling me about how one Sunday he was travelling to Cinncinati with his family (he recently got married), and one mile from their destination, their car broke down. Instead of getting all frustrated with each other, he and his family prayed together, and within five minutes someone pulled up, examined their car, told them what was wrong with the car, drove his whole family the remaining hour to Cinncinati, told my friend what parts to buy, and offered to fix the car the next day (which he did). My friend told me he couldn’t have been more dumbfounded and amazed if he had been struck by lightning and angles told him he would live! My friend’s testimony lead into an intersting discussion of prayer, and I think Christ was glorified.

I am now very thankful that God brought me down to work on my day off so that I could share in the testimony of his power and grace.

That’s so cool, Micah! Both the raise and the story. Andrea
