I am sorry I have not updated you all sooner. As you know two weekends ago (March 2nd, 3rd, 4th) I went to St. Louis to visit Washington University. Thank you all for praying for me. The trip went really well. I did not have any car trouble and nothing out of the ordinary happened. The (physics) graduate students were really welcoming and attentive. It was evident also they all got along with each other well and enjoyed each other. I spoke with several professors as well, and they all seemed very nice. There also seems to be a lot of interesting research going on. All in all, the trip made me want to go to graduate school even more.
The students I spoke with were encouraging. There were a couple of them who said that they had felt weak in several areas of physics before going to graduate school; I feel weak in lots of areas, too, but it was nice to know there seem to be people who are in the same boat as I am. Interestingly, one of the graduate students said that many of the students in the physics program are from small liberal arts colleges. The students said that 98%, maybe even more, of the students that come in also finish (unlike some programs that try to weed people out via the qualifying exams).
The people there were so friendly there that by the end of the weekend I already felt like I could be a part of their group. I actually felt a little too comfortable. I am afraid that I will forget to be a light. Please pray that I God would be preparing me and giving me wisdom in how to be in but not of the world in this particular setting.

This is a very wise thing to pray for. I will continue to pray for you that way.

That’s so exciting about going to graduate school, and I am very glad that you feel so much at home there. I will be praying.
