Silly Me

by sejwa on May 31, 2008

I have noticed over the years that instead of rejoicing in what I have learned, I am often discontent because of how much I still don’t know. The other day I was looking at the grass beside me as I was walking on campus, and I suddenly became frustrated/disappointed that I didn’t know much about grass. I didn’t think this obsession was silly until I told Micah, whence he started laughing 🙂

I’m glad God had given you a desire to understand things.

I have a lot of grass to turn under in my garden and though I prefer to do it that way for the benefit of its decomposition it takes a while! But I look forward to planting and growing a big grass called corn in its place!

Grass is an amazing part of God’s creation! We need to cut ours.

Seth, that is a very good observation, I think I often do the same thing, so it is helpful to see it written out clearly so I can know when I am frustrated that that may be why! 😉

frustrated because you don’t understand things? Or just grass? 🙂

I often feel the same way, Seth. I always find myself wishing I knew more–about everything! Looking at all the architecture and amazing beauty here in England has heightened that feeling for me. I almost found myself wanting to become an architect instead of a linguist!

Well, if we lived as long as they did before the flood, then you could change careers every few decades 😀
