My procedure to remove the skin cancer is finished (10/24/07). I was in the Doctor’s office about an hour and a half. Only one cutting was necessary. But to sew up the wound took 13 stitches.
I got home about 12:30 and at 1:00 began ice packs for 15 minutes each hour. By bedtime I had 10 icepack treatments. To keep my head in an upright position I slept in my chair, very well by the way. No bending, no lifting, no sweating! This morning I did have some swelling downward towards my eyes. Ice pack again every hour. Tonight the swelling seems to have gone down some, but still using ice. The huge bandage remains on till Saturday; then it can be removed. That is to be followed by twice a 7 to 10 day treatment of the stitch line with hydrogen peroxide and an ointment. Only then a shower with soap and water. They said that it may take 7 to 8 months for all the nerves to heal.
Now about Thanksgiving – as soon as you know your arrival and departure days we would like to know, for it will help in sleeping arrangements. More about Thanksgiving later no doubt. all our love to you; Dad

Glad to hear the cancer is gone. Thanks for the update. The follow-up sounds like a lot of work.
I, too, am very thankful to hear that the cancer is gone. I’ll pray for a speedy recovery.
I’m glad to know that’s all taken care of. It does sound like a lot of follow up work on it. For how long will your activity be restricted?
