Last week we finished watching a four episode movie called North&South. It’s really good, and I can very nearly equate it with Pride&Prejudice. It’s based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskill, who lived a little after Jane Austen. It’s a romance involving a tension between a woman grown up in the old-fashioned southern England and a man in the industrious northern England. Highly recommend it.

I saw this years ago if it is the same one I am thinking about. I think it was on PBS.

I’ll recommend the movie, too.
It came out in 2004. There is another North and South, but it is about the civil war and it is nearly 10 hours long. I hear Wives and Daughters was also very good, but we have yet to see it. Hee, hum!
