Catch Up Time

Leslie, Lisa, and Katie

Here’s a little on what’s going on around here. Lisa (see picture) is away at a weekend AFS retreat. We really enjoy having her with us. She is taking Algebra, physical education and health, German, and Chemistry along with volleyball practice every day there are no games. She is getting better thinking and living in our English language culture everyday! Did I tell you there are two other German students going to her school and one lives across the street from us. Her name is Leslie and she is also in the picture of the girls at the Denver Fair. Kate is taking group classes in chemistry this year. It is her first experience taking a high school course in a classroom setting. She seems to like seeing some of her friends and reportedly is learning too! The group teaching is a co-op type setting and Sharon monitors a study hall and helps out in other ways too. We took a break from getting up early on Saturday, yesterday, to set up in an outdoor market to go to an auction. It wasn’t a very profitable day, we made a couple of purchases but one item we definitely paid too much. Still we had a nice day together and stopped at a couple of antique places to see what’s going on. Last week Sharon and I helped out at our community’s annual fund raiser for the park. The annual event is called Reamstown Days and features events for children, games, food, and entertainment. This year’s band was pretty good. Going back to our part-time business we’ve taken another step to grow by renting market space for the fall antique extravaganza from Thursday afternoon September 27 to Saturday September 29th. I made some display racks for art, clocks, mirrors, and shelf units. I still need to make some additional shelving to go on top of our tables. There are a lot of people who come out for this event and we’re hoping some of our “Found Treasures” will become theirs!

There was supposed to be a title or description under the photo identifying the girls. It is as follows left to right, Leslie, Lisa, Katie.

Nice picture and good job of sizing it. The titles never show up, and I’m not sure why. If I want a title I usually just type it in under the picture.

Sounds like things are going well. I hope you sell a lot of stuff at the extravaganza!
It’s cool that your community does things together, like the fund raiser.
Thanks for the picture! It’s nice to put a face and name together.
