The Chilean Independence day is being celebrated this weekend, so we invited some friends–former missionaries to Chile–to come over and help us celebrate. They brought these slides of my internship in Chile. I was about 24. It brings back a lot of memories.

Minus the hair, you look a lot Seth in these pictures 🙂
It is neat to see these, Daddy! You talk about it quite a bit, so it is neat to see how it was 🙂
Those are fun!
Is that Señora Mercedes (the second from the right)?
And the guy with the brown sweater looks like Patricio. Who is the guy with the tie? I know the lady with the locket, but I forget her name. How old was Rich Ramsay? Was he married yet?
The first picture is from the seminary in Quillota. It’s not señora Mercedes. Patricio is not there. I don’t remember the names of most of these people. Rich was not yet married. He’s a few years older than me. I think the lower picture was in Belloto.
You may find it interesting to know that we had a discussion on cultural distinctions on the way home from worship this afternoon and we were remembering discussions on this topic with Gary from his internship days. And then I opened my email today to find this post!
WoW! You do look like Seth. You can tell it was the 70’s.
Great pictures. I agree, the pictures remind me much of Seth.
Dad, even though much of what you learned during that internship is sprinkled throughout your writings, I think it would be need for you to write memoir of your internship year in Chile–when you have the time 🙂
