The small green trees are the Leland Cypress. In 4 or 5 years they should be 15 to 20 feet tall. The cut wood is down over the bank and stacked near the creek. The problem is to get it up where we can use it. Its the remainder of the tops of trees that went over in a storm some 4 or 5 years ago. We have cut, stacked the main trunk of the tree. In fact, we burned a lot of it in the fireplaces last winter. There is quite a bit left for next winter, but we do need to get the rest of it up the bank so we can use it. More comments later. Dad
The dark squares with stepping stones is a attempt to stop erosion. The water runs off the front of the house and garage and caused all top soil to wash away. The former owner stopped it by putting in some stones to divert the water but never fixed the washed out place. I hope when finished this will do the trick. We plan to put some flowers or ground cover there. The rain took care of all the petals on the tulips. Today we did some more planting after clearing out more brush in the front. The Leland Cypress are evergreen. Dad
We had some sort of tree in Oklahoma planted by the pond in the back yard. I think it was a cypress of some variety, but it was deciduous, even though the leaves were like evergreen trees. They grew very fast too. David said when he was back in OK last year, he drove through our old neighborhood and the cypress trees were the tallest in the neighborhood.

Maybe Dad or Judy will comment on the pictures.
It looks very nice. I also see clues that someone has a master plan in mind? 🙂
Are those small green trees the Leland Cypress Trees? And what are the sections of planter and the squares in them?
Beautiful!! Actually, this is from David. I have no computer at the moment.
Looks lovely!

Are Leland Cypresses deciduous or evergreen?
