Today is my dad’s birthday and he would have been 92. I miss him. And I’m thankful for how the Lord used him in my life and in the life of many others.
I wrote an article in June of 2017–just a few months before he went to be with the Lord–on what’s often called the “intermediate state.” I found it encouraging to think and write about these things–and to revisit them. You can read it here if you are interested.
Also, the message I gave at his funeral can be found here.
It’s a wonderful thing not to have to grieve as those who have no hope.{{1}}[[1]]1 Thessalonians 4:13[[1]]

Thank you for sharing this, Gary.
He was a wonderful grandfather! He cared so much for all of his family!
😊🌷
I miss him, too! I loved what you shared at his funeral, and your thoughts on the intermediate state. What an encouraging, and optimistic story we live in!
I also miss him. I enjoy wearing some of his shirts.
He is sorely missed. One incident I remember in Chile was when he was reading the story of John and Abigail Adams aloud to us and one story about sea sickness made him just burst out laughing.
Yes, I also very much miss him, both the solid foundation he always seemed to be, and the mischief he so tastefully exhibited.
