Lately, I’ve been enjoying reading about food and looking at recipe books. The books I’ve mainly been looking at are Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon, and the two Trim Healthy Mama books. Has anyone read any of these? If so, what do you think? We’ve been trying to cut back on sugar and increase vegetable consumption. I’m hoping to start using more stevia and am excited to try some new recipes! Some recipes that have been on my mind to try soon are the following: Carob chips, Flourless Carob Cake, Strawberry Cake, Hearty Lentil Chicken Sausage Soup, Chicken Gumbo, and others. In addition, I’ve been curious to try making some cauliflour bread. I found a recipe on Dr. Josh Axe’s website. It looked pretty tasty!

So how have you felt since you started this? Have you noticed a difference?
Hmm. You’re making me hungry. There would such a reduction in health issues if we all ate right. Let us know how the cauliflower bread turns out.
I’ve been looking at the trim Healthy Mama books as well. I’m hoping to have more time and energy for trying some of the recipes after I’m not working anymore.
That sounds so fun! I love the Nourishing Traditions book! I love their whole foods approach.
I’ve been reading Nourishing Traditions and trying out a couple of recipes. I have the THM books, but haven’t had time to read them yet. As for diet, we are trying to cut out sugar, incorporate soaking grains, and increase consumption of healthy fats, organ meat, and homemade bone broth. The newest thing we’ve been doing, though, is we’ve been using an oral spray that detoxes heavy metals and other toxins. It can take some people months to see results, but some of us are already experiencing health improvements. I’ve had more energy and less brain fog, Rosie has been more “Rosie”😉 instead of moody and prone to losing her temper, she no longer mispronounces her R’s, and Chante’s eczema that she’s had since infancy is actually clearing up! Another child has had issues with bed wetting. When starting this spray, though, this child immediately went from wetting nearly every night to wetting only once in a week!
In answer to your question, Dad: Yes, I feel more myself more of the time. I don’t feel as foggy-brained at the end of the day and I have more energy. And it is tasty!
Andrea, have you been using any recipes from Nourishing Traditions?
Aunt Janice and Kristen, I’ll be interested to see what you think of the Trim Healthy Mama books. I just found out that the authors seem to live only about 45 minutes north of us, near Dickson/Lyles, TN!
Kristen, that is really neat how you have been soaking grains, making bone broth, and such. I have not quite gotten to doing those things, yet! However, I have enjoyed the Crispy Nuts! I never knew walnuts could be so tasty! Where do you get the oral spray to detox heavy metals?
Audrey, Yes, the THM authors do live in TN, and they are related(daughters?) to Nancy Campbell, who publishes a lovely free Christian magazine called Above Rubies. It’s very pro-family, recognizing that children are blessings and not burdens. I enjoy reading the articles and I bet you would too! The oral spray is called TRS(short for Advanced Toxin and contaminants Removal System), it is put out by a company called Coseva, and it is only sold by distributors. Technically, I am a distributor(not a business, just better affordability for our big family😂) and I can send you my website link, but there’s actually more information on their Facebook group page. Are you on Facebook, though? If not, I can email you more info if you’re interested.
Cool–sounds like some good dietary adventures. I find myself usually feeling less drowsy if I consume less refined sugars–but every now and then I do get a really strong craving for sugar. Have they done any studies on the addictiveness of sugar?
I love the Trim Healthy Mama books,& I feel great!! Check out My Montana Kitchen— she also has great recipes
Looks like My Montana Kitchen has some yummies!
Micah, I think they have done studies on the addictive nature of sugar. Dad, didn’t you get a book about that?
